Who is responsible for your data?
Avv. Daniele Bertaggia, operating as Studio Legale Internazionale Bertaggia, is the data controller for the website, enquiries and consultations described in this notice. Contact: info@avvocatobertaggia.com; Via Aldighieri 10, 44121 Ferrara, Italy; VAT no. IT01034650380. Telephone: +44 7865631327 or +39 0532 240071.
Information involved
An enquiry may include your name, contact details, organisation, correspondence and the information you choose to send about a proposed matter. Website operation also involves technical information such as an IP address, browser information, requested pages and security logs. Cookies and similar technologies are explained in our Cookie policy.
Please send only information needed for an initial assessment. Before sending identity documents, bank records, health information or information about criminal proceedings, contact the firm to agree the appropriate method and purpose. Sending an enquiry does not by itself establish a professional engagement.
Online consultations and withdrawal requests
When you purchase a consultation, the firm processes contact and billing details, order and payment information, correspondence needed to provide the consultation, and any withdrawal declaration and receipt. These records support performance of the contract, legal obligations and, where applicable, the establishment or defence of legal claims (GDPR Articles 6(1)(b), (c) and (f)). Payment providers process information required to handle the payment under their own applicable arrangements and notices.
Payment on this website concludes the engagement for the purchased consultation only. Any further professional acts or services are agreed separately after the consultation. See the terms and conditions (Italian), including the online withdrawal function. The privacy notice does not itself determine the scope of the engagement.
Purposes and legal grounds
- Responding to your request and considering a possible engagement: steps at your request before entering into a contract, where applicable (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Handling business correspondence and protecting the website and legal rights: legitimate interests in responding, maintaining security and managing or defending claims (Article 6(1)(f)),subject to the required balancing of rights.
- Meeting professional, accounting, tax or anti-money-laundering duties where applicable: compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Optional tracking that requires consent: your consent, which can be withdrawn through Cookie settings (Article 6(1)(a)).
Special-category data and information about criminal convictions or offences require the additional conditions and safeguards applicable under Articles 9 and 10. An ordinary email or website visit is not treated as blanket consent for every form of processing.
Providing information and access to it
You can browse the public information without instructing the firm. You choose whether to make an enquiry; without sufficient contact details or information, the firm may be unable to reply or assess it. Information required by law or necessary for an engagement is addressed when the engagement is considered.
Access may be needed by authorised professionals and administrative staff, technical hosting and communications suppliers, and professional advisers involved in the relevant matter. Authorities may receive information when required by law. A bank, notary or foreign professional involved in a proposed transaction may have its own obligations and privacy notice; the relevant arrangements depend on the mandate and jurisdiction.
Retention and international matters
Retention depends on why the information was collected, whether an engagement follows, applicable professional and statutory duties, and the need to establish or defend legal claims. Cookie duration is separate from the retention of correspondence and client files. Contact the firm for the criteria applicable to a particular record or matter.
International work and third-party online services can involve recipients outside the European Economic Area. The destination, recipient and applicable transfer mechanism must be assessed for the relevant service or engagement under GDPR Chapter V. You may request information about applicable safeguards. See the Cookie policy for the online services identified on this website.
Your rights and requests
Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdrawal of consent does not invalidate earlier lawful processing. Contact info@avvocatobertaggia.com to make a request. Identity verification may be necessary.
You may complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) or another competent supervisory authority. See the General Data Protection Regulation for the governing rules. Enquiries to the firm are considered by its professionals; a website interaction does not determine acceptance of a matter.
Cookies and changes to this notice
Read the Cookie policy for tracking technologies and preference controls. This notice may be revised when the website or processing arrangements change. The date above identifies this version.
